The proclamation of the Word of God is one of the most important roles that a person can play in the liturgical life of a parish.

Fr. David Whalen, OSFS, a former professor of liturgy, will speak to our current lectors and any who wish to become one about the role of lector, its history in the Church, and specifically how to effectively proclaim the Word to our people! There will be conversation about rhetoric, diction, pacing, and various other aspects of reading aloud in public effectively.

Current lectors are asked to bring their 2024 Lector Workbooks with them to this event.

There will also be light refreshments (cookies, coffee, etc.) served.
