Gesu & St. Pius Parishes will be sponsoring a fall speaker series featuring Fr. Michael Newman, OSFS. The title of the series will be: "Learn From Me for I am Gentle and Humble of Heart": Transforming Violence Into Gentleness. Fr. Newman will look at how St. Francis de Sales, in a turbulent and violent era of religious warfare, lived and ministered in the midst of this, his spiritual formation plan to resist violence and cultivate gentleness, and how we can do the same today.

The series will take place for three consecutive Wednesday evenings beginning on October 16. The talk will begin at 7:00pm in St. Pius Church. Specifically, Fr. Newman will discuss:

Oct 16 - The Salesian Jesus: Gentle and Humble of Heart

A look into the "heart" of Salesian spirituality with an emphasis on interior transformation.

Oct 23 - Abide in Me: Practicing Humility

The Salesian virtue of humility and how it entails one having a right relationship with God.

Oct 30 - Heart Speaks to Heart: Practicing Gentleness in a World of Violence

The Salesian virtue of gentleness, defined as the social aspect of humility.
